Animal Assisted Therapy involves using trained animals to help people improve their physical, emotional, and social well-being during goal oriented treatment sessions. It’s no longer just about horses, other animals such as chickens, pigs, donkeys and more can be included. Remember, everyone is unique, therefore, not all services will benefit everyone. Like anything, there will be people that absolutely love and support one organization and there will be some that absolutely hate that same organization. My job is to let you know that these organizations exist and hope that you’ll find the right one(s) to fit your needs. Services: At our ABLE Acres facility, we specialize in providing equine-assisted therapy. This treatment uses horses to assist kids with various emotional, social, physical, and sensory challenges.

Anchoring Hope
Services: Offers a holistic approach, known as the Draper Sensory Method, to relieve the symptoms and the physiological cause of neurological conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), severe behavioral issues, depression, anxiety and everyday stressors which can lead to more severe emotional or physical issues.

The Donkeys of the Heart
Services: Donkeys of the heart was formed in 2019 with the goal of improving the mental, social, health of children and teens living with disabilities through therapeutic horsemanship activities. Adaptive horsemanship activities include grooming, saddling, leading activities on the ground as well as mounted riding lessons. We partner with donkeys.

Skye Therapy Solutions
Services: Equine assisted psychotherapy and consultation. Virtual and live sessions available for adults and children. Horses are powerful herd animals who can bring about change in a person with little effort. The session consists of completing non-riding tasks with the horse as a skilled master’s level therapist guides them through the healing process using different modalities such as parts work and somatic experiencing. The horses are free roaming in session so they are unrestricted in their ability to assist us while meeting their own needs as a sentient being.
