The Social Security Administration provides financial protection throughout all of life’s journeys. They administer retirement, disability, survivor, and family benefits, and enroll individuals in Medicare.
Below are the most common Social Security programs we often see people applying for. Information about system based services has been pulled from their website to give you a better understanding of what they offer. When applying for services, make sure you have an adequate medical record. Having a documented history of you or your child’s disability and their needs, will greatly assist you in the application process. Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
About the program: SSI provides monthly payments to people with disabilities and older adults who have little or no income or resources. Adults and children may be eligible if they have little to no income, resources and have a disability or are age 65 and better.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
About the program: SSDI or “Disability” provides monthly payments to people who have a disability that stops or limits their ability to work. Individuals may be eligible if they have a disability and enough work history.

The Social Security Administration also offers the Disabled Adult Child Program: An adult who has a disability that began before age 22 may be eligible for benefits if their parent is deceased or starts receiving retirement or disability benefits.
